Releasing the True Worshiper

Hello fellow tumblrers(or however I should call you) I am back in the tumblr world! Thanks to a great friend who has encouraged me to write again! To start off my first blog back, I want to write about being a true worshiper

I have talked to a lot of people who are Christians who think that the act of worship is only through singing and playing music. We often have this mindset because at our church services we have the usual opening of the service, then worship, then the sermon, and closing words. What we consider to be worship is the time frame called worship. Recently I have been thinking about what it means to be a true worshiper and I have realized that the act of worship cannot be put in a box. The act of worship is a daily, constant action. Worship should be shown through your life, in everything you do.

The true worshiper uses his or her talents to give praise to God. The true worshiper doesn’t care what the world has to say. The true worshiper sets no limits for how they worship God.

We were all created to worship God.

Our purpose is to worship God in everything that we do.

So I challenge you today. Will you release the true worshiper inside of you? Will you let your life be a life that reflects the life God has called you to? Will you worship God in the way he has created you to?

Loosing Sight of What Really Matters

I haven’t posted here in a long time. You may have noticed. My hope is that enough of you read this blog that you notice when it’s been a while. I apologize first of all, that I haven’t been posting. Sometimes, life just gets in the way. That’s what my entry is about today. It’s something that has been a personal experience in my life lately and a testimony of the faithfulness of God. :) My prayer is that you guys would understand my heart and let it remind you and speak to you as well. So, here we go…

When you stop spending time with Jesus, you being to doubt everything. Recently, I have experienced this in my life. I let the busyness of life jeopardize my relationship with Jesus and the anointing He has place on my life. I got “too busy” for God and before I knew it life seemed to be a big mess. I began to see myself through the world’s eyes instead of my Creator’s eyes. I lost touch with the destiny God was calling me to because I was trying to handle everything on my own strength. Soon, everything felt like it was falling apart. To other people, my life may have looked flawless, but from my perspective, it felt like a tornado was hitting. I was listening to the lies that I always messed everything up and wasn’t doing good enough. I began to doubt my relationships with the ones I loved. I began to doubt my abilities to succeed in the ministry God had called me to. I simply felt like I wasn’t living up to what I was called to be. Like I was missing the mark.

Then it hit me. Since I had stopped spending time with Him, I was loosing touch with my Creator. I let His anointing for me get clouded out by busyness and insecurities. I expected God to be faithful, and I didn’t care to do my part anymore. I’m not saying that God isn’t faithful no matter what, because He is always faithful. But when we let other things get in the way of our relationship with God, we loose sight of who He is and forget that we need to seek after God and be faithful to Him, just as He is faithful to us.

I thank God every day for the life He has given me. I have come to know, that even though we forget to be faithful to Him, He is always going to be faithful to us.

The Covenant we made with Him when we accepted Him into our hearts as our Savior, will never be broken. He will always be faithful to what he has promised.

Dreaming For Jesus

Dreams. Some of us dream of becoming famous people, while others have dreams of changing the world.  Some of us dream of traveling the world, while others have dreams of discovering the cure for cancer. Dreaming is so important because it gives us a goal to strive for and a passion to live for. In all that we dream, the best foundation for our dreaming is that it would glorify God. Dreaming for Jesus is the best investment we could ever make in our lives. He gives us the purpose to live and to dream.

I think there are two key points to remember when we are dreaming for greater, bigger things in our lives.

First point. We need to play the background. Jesus is always the star. So many times I find myself taking the credit for everything, when in fact; I don’t deserve ANY of the credit. There is a line from the song Background by Lecrae that goes, “I’m who I are, a trail of stardust leading to the superstar!” Such a perfect lyric that we need to constantly be reminded of.

It is not about you. It’s all about Jesus. We need to stop trying to live our lives for ourselves and start living it for Jesus.

Second point. We can dream all we want, but if our dreams aren’t laid on a foundation of prayer, we will never even come close to accomplishing our dreams. Prayer is so vital in every area of our walk with Christ. Without prayer, we won’t get very far. With prayer, we have the ability to accomplish great things for Jesus. Think about it. When athletes are preparing for a championship race, they have to prepare months in advance to achieve their goal. It’s the same thing with prayer. Prayer prepares us to reach our goals and dreams for Jesus.

Dream. Dream BIG. God has great things in store for you in your life. Start to believe that and you will start living with that in mind.

With love,

Ever Present.

Why is it that we think that we can turn on and turn off the presence of God in our lives?

Why is it that we add Jesus to everything else in our lives, rather than making Him our life

God desires that you remain in His presence always. His presence was not given to you to be something that you could bring in and out of your life, but to be always present in your life.

In John, Jesus speaks about how He will leave this earth, but send His Holy Spirit in his place.

“But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.” John 16:7

Jesus continues to say that “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you in all truth.” vs. 12

The Holy Spirit is in us to guide us. Jesus says that it is the best for you.

The Holy Spirit should be all consuming, all the time.

God didn’t intend for the Holy Spirit to be there for us only when we think we need him. In fact, we are in desperate need of the Holy Spirit in our lives daily.

To address the second question, Jesus needs to be your life, rather than an addition to your life.

Jesus deserves to have all of our attention. We need to live our lives putting Jesus as the priority of everything, rather than second to everything else.

Jesus, I ask that you would forgive me for mixing up my priorities and making you less in my life. I ask that you would forgive me for adding you to my life and thinking that I can turn on and off your presence in my life. Today I make the commitment to make YOU my life and to constantly live in YOUR PRESENCE. Thank you Lord, for listening to my hearts cry. Amen.

with love…

God’s Hands

So many times I forget that my life is in God’s hands.

Take a moment and let that soak in.

Your Life is in God’s Hands.

Every time I loose focus of where my heart and mind need to be focused on, I get stressed out about my life. This past week, some things happened that weren’t in any way particularly bad, but I let them stress me out. Yesterday God reminded me that my life is in His Hands. He knows what I need and the perfect timing for it. He knows what needs to happen when and through it all he is Perfect and Holy.

Because He is Perfect, His will for your life is perfect. Stop expecting anything less. Surrender. Let go. Trust in God. Know that He is Holy.

God’s got you and you are where you are for a REASON.

Trust=Strength

“The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. The will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31

I read this verse this morning, and the thing that popped out at me was, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.”

As I sat on the train, thinking about the day ahead of me, I thought about how tired I was and the day had just begun. How could I possibly make it through the day. Then I opened up to this verse. When you trust in the Lord, you will find a new strength. This strength never ends and you will not become weary or tired. This new strength is HIS strength. On our own strength, we get tired and worn out, but HIS strength is not weak. Yes, you will become tired on your own strength, but when you begin to trust God, He will provide you with a strength that renews you and never runs out.

Suddenly, my day didn’t seem so difficult to get through any more. I let Him take the lead as I trusted Him to provide all that I need.

I am so thankful that I serve a God who is so big, but still cares about every little detail of my life.

My prayer is that you would let God take the lead in your life. Let him be the dance partner that guides you through this life. Don’t rely on your strength, but trust that His strength is enough.

:)

Jumbled Words

I haven’t posted anything lately on this blog and I think its because I wasn’t ready. The past month has been one that has been so hard, yet amazing at the same time. A year ago, after life took a series of unexpected turns, I thought that I was at the lowest possible point in my life. Today, I am still learning that life is a series of ups and downs, we just have to remember that our lives are not about us, they are about the Mighty God who sits on the throne. God has been taking me on a journey deeper with Him, and while I asked God to mold me into who He’s called me to be, I’ve realized that it can be hard sometimes. Nobody wants to open up and let someone into the deepest parts of their hearts. Nobody wants to uncover the ugly parts of their life. However, when we let the Almighty God who knows us better than anyone else into those deep places, He begins to heal, repair and rebuild the brokenness. Read Isaiah. That’s what I’ve been doing and I’ve realized that God has to break us down, before He can rebuild. He has to take out all the junk, before He can begin to cleanse and heal. Even though sometimes its so hard to come to terms with the junk in my life, I keep on running towards the one who is full of so much grace and mercy. His love is enough. End of story. He knows exactly what you are going through and will meet you right where you are in your life. He desires to heal your brokenness and be the Savior of your life.

I was reminded this week of the story of the Potter and the clay found in Jeremiah 18. God is the potter and we are the clay. Verse 6 states, “As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.” We are in God’s hands. One, we don’t have to worry because our lives are in His hands. Two, He is molding us into the person He desires us to be, which sometimes means that it’s going to to hurt and it’s going to be hard. In the end, you will stand bold with greater faith and passion for God. Remember that through the hard times, God is even working in you and molding you. Sometimes we have to go through hard times, so we can stand on the mountain later or so that we can be reminded that we are nothing without God. All you need is Him.

Random thoughts. Hope you were blessed.

Who is God to You?

Who is God to you? It’s a question that seems simple for me to answer, but it’s so difficult to describe God with human words. In fact, it’s impossible! I was recently inspired by a song that I heard the other day. It tells of a few words to describe who the God is that I serve and love in the best words possible.

“Abba Father, Provider, Healer, Messiah, Savior to all.”

To some of us, God maybe has been the only father figure that we have in our lives. He is the only one who has told us that he will love us no matter what. He loves unconditionally with the perfect love of a Father.

To those who have been lacking in various areas, He has been the Provider. He has provided for when it seemed like we were at our end. But God was faithful and provided for us, as we continued to seek after His heart.

Others of us may need the healing hand of God to heal our emotions, spirits and physical bodies. He maybe has been our Healer. He has preformed miracles when it seemed as though there was no more hope. He has repaired the broken parts of us.

Lastly, to everyone He has been our Savior. He has sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for us, so that we could live eternally. We didn’t do anything to deserve it, yet it was by his grace that He saved us. He has saved us from the darkest parts of us and the world. He has redeemed us from our sin.

HE IS…

…What is God to you?

Our Sovereign God

Take time to think about this…Jesus is still on the throne. He is still holy no matter what. God cannot be confined to our circumstances. No matter what state of life we are in, He is still Sovereign. He never changes His character. He is perfect and will always be perfect. Unlike everything else in this world, He is constant. His love his never going to change. His faithfulness is never going to change. His justice is never going to change. How great it is to serve a God who never changes. Sometimes when I go through hardships, I put God in a box and limit Him. I forget that He is still worthy, above all else because I get distracted by my circumstances. I forget to come to God and worship Him because of who He is. I come to Him only when I need something. God is to be worshiped no matter what are circumstances are. Even though things in our lives may change, he never will.

Let’s remember to give Him all the glory in every season life may bring us. Get back to praising Him just for who He is. Not just because of what He’s done for you but because of WHO HE IS!

“All of my life, in every season, You are still God. I have a reason to sing. I have a reason to worship.”

He Loves You

It took two nails in his hands to show you how much he loves you.

It took two nails in his feet to show you how much he loves you.

It took a crowd of mockers and the perseverance of one man to keep going to show you how much he loves you.

It took numerous whippings to show you how much he loves you.

It took a crown of thorns on his head to show you how much he loves you.

It took a man, just like me and you to be hung on a cross to show you how much he loves you.

It took God a sacrifice to send his only son to die on that hill for the dirty, ugly sinners that we are to show us how much he loves us.

“For God so love the world that he gave his one and only son, so that we would not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

What sacrifice are you will to give to praise the God who did everything because he loves you?
